Korg Legacy Digital Edition not showing in Logic 8 Leopard

Post by Chrismusic1 »

Hi all,

I have been using Korg Digital Legacy Edition with my G4 and iMac running Panther with no problem. I bought a new Macbook 2.2 ghz running leopard and Logic pro 8 but when I install the programme and attach the korg dongle it doesn't work.
I have followed instructions to the word and updated the licence driver from korg but still no joy.

I have also logged onto korg's website and clicked on re- issue licence key then it takes me to the page to enter details but that is not working either. It doesn't let you enter the product version either.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

regards,

Chris

Are you sure you have the Leopard compatible version? I only got notification of that from Korg about a week ago, so it's pretty recent.

If you have that version, then do the Legacy plugins show up in the audio unit manager?

KLC (both AE and DE) have been compatible with Leopard all along since the last update earlier this year. The email sent out last week was not announcing a new update, simply confiming they both work with Leopard.

What you need to check is if you have the latest Syncrosoft LCC installed.

That functionality only applies to the Original KLC (KLC-1) up to version 1.1.

Your KLC-DE license physically resides on the Syncrosoft USB key (dongle); it can't be "re-issued".

As others have stated make sure you download the most current Syncrosoft License Control Center (LCC) version and install it:

If you can't get this to work, call your Korg Country Distributor for Product Support. If necessary, they can work with Korg Japan (the software development group):

Korg Legacy

Post by Chrismusic1 »

I have just finally managed to install it.
Thanks to everyone who replied to my post. I had to uninstall the old software first but the problem was that there was no uninstaller installed. I spoke to Apple and they told me to delete the Korg components in LIBRARY>AUDIO>PLUG-INS>COMPONENTS relevant to the korg Legacy digital software. I had to click on (info) on each file to make sure it was a korg file first then restart and install the update. The old software had to be deleted first before any new installation could be commenced.

Because of the the initial Migration from G4 to Macbook there were old files still present in the components file.

regards,

Chris
