Hello
I just baought a Yamaha MM6. I would like to know if Style files for Korg and other Keyboards work on this. I downloaded some, but not all of them work. I'm looking for Style files for Arabic, Persian and Indian songs please. Can anyone help?
Where can I get Style files for Yamaha?
Thanks for your help

Hi!

I guess you won't never be able to load Korg styles into a Yamaha, beacuse they have their own format.
But you can try to load SMF (Standard Midi Files), which you can download them all over the net as .MID files.

EMC Style works can convert any format to Yamaha format.

Also, if you look around the NET for Yamaha Styles, chances are you will find thousands of files already converted from KORG format to Yamaha. As well as every other format going.

Style Conversion is very popular, and the guys that do it up load it all for free.

Regards.

Thanks a lot Sharp, I haven't been into Yamaha styles, so I've learnt a new interesting thing...
Well, internet and Google are THE resources for that.

You'll probably have trouble with styles on the MM6, because most, if not all other Yamaha and Korg arrangers, have eight parts per style, and the MM6 only has four. Be aware that the MM6 also has a terible MIDI interface, but there are some workarounds if you need them. I don't know what the guies in the marketing department at Yamaha were thinking when they decided to pitch the MM6 as the "Mini Mo!" I think you've caught on, that the MM6 is not a synthesizer, it's an arranger, no matter what the marketing department at Yamaha says. I really like Yamaha products, but I think they really blew it on this one.
