was that really worth writing in a korg forum? go post it on an mpc forum might be more fun
[edit]
mpc's have terrible interfaces, the electribes have a lot more instant controlls on their faceplate which can not be comparable to an mpc... I doubt you can take an mpc out and start jamming like you can on the electribes.... that's why it is a groovebox... that's what they were designed to do....
they're under the category of their own when it comes to audio devices..
either way you can't compare either to a very cleverly designed ableton live set which is controlled by a midi controller that you program do do what you want....

and at the same time achieve better sound quality...
get two esx 1 and crush the competition( akai)

Dude im showing undying respect for THE KORG ESX-1 which as i stated blowes akai mpc`s away trying to steer people away from the wack akai mpc ' and you down me for it and then talk about ableton live. MAN COME ON POT KETTLE BLACK buy 2esx-1 people you need nothing else sample loads of synth sounds and twist warp the hell out of em

yes, but you can do it better with one esx if you use it as a midi controller for live
I'm not arguing with you on the fact that the tribes are better..... all I'm saying is that there's no need to tell us, cause we have them and use them

esx 1

What about the people that do not have an esx that are thinking about buying one and are not sure if they want esx roland or akai as a sampler and dont have ableton live hate computers and just want a tabletop sampler as a standalone unit or have an emx and know nothing about the esx 1 that was the reason for my post not everyone wants a computer and in a beat battle where you are given a sample chosen by judges to make a beat with and have 2 min to complete using ableton would be useless and you cant bring your desktop to a beat battle you dig im speaking for hip hop makers that want fast results and a better tabletop equipment solution not laptop not windows vista and im done peace

That's also not true, I can program a beat much faster on a lap top in ableton then I can on the electribe.....
and it will sound better and the compressor in ableton is awesome compared to the one on esx, and so is the reverb

both of which are a snap to use if u know how to quickly....
don't get me wrong I'm still not arguing that esx is better then other samplers.

I think they both make valid points.
I for one, do have a EMX and know very little about the ESX,
so Mike Pepp's comments were helpful.
I also own Ableton Live but understand only the very basics,
so Ruso's comments were helpful.

I watched a youtube video of an MPC1000 (Just Blaze?) and in the comments someone had wrote:
"Welcome to the world of pop hip-hop, the world of loops, samples and MPC's."
For some reason it stuck with me.

Sorry but i'd never buy 2 ESX units , not even 1 , but i am considering buying a second es-1 MKI because of the value and creative potential it would allow , £100 is a steal for an ES-1 . 2 for circa £200 is a great price .
U know it makes some sense . Or cover your bases and get an MX ESX and throw in an ES-1 .
Just a thought guys .

I want at least one ESX.
I want it for Baby Rock's Tijuana where I'm working towards being the resident artist playing a couple times a month.
The pay isn't the greatest (free parking, free beer and a tank of gas) but the chicks are hot!
They pull 800-1,600 people on a saturday night, a decent place for me to develop my live skills.
This is why I am here on this forum...! to learn to use KORG music technology i.e. EMX/ESX/Triton to throw down some electro-rock on stage.
My leadlines are triggered via an old school RK-100, much like the photos below with trippy visuals going off in sync to the beat on 3 large video projection screens.
Am I caught up in self-delusion or just determined to be successful?
I guess, time will tell...
