A question for Radias owners...

Post by EVPS »

This post could go in one of three synth forums, but I think I've picked the best one. Basically I'm saving for an M3 with Radias expansion board. I already own a microkorg, wondering if there are any people who bought a Radias and still found uses for their microkorgs? Should I sell the microkorg, I can't think of anything I'd be missing from the little fella once I had the radias engine, but maybe someone else who's made the jump to Radias could tell me otherwise. Is it easy to recreate patches on the radias that I had programmed on the microkorg?

It was my first synth so it might stay in situ for sentimental reasons as well as the patches I'd made for it. Many an hour spent over those four little dials lol

Thanks for any help/advice you can give me :-)

Well, i have a Radias and i sold my microKorg the last week.

Not that i don't like it. I miss it a little bit, but i wasn't using it. If you love it let it go and stuff.

If you have any doubts about letting it go, then it's your
concience telling you that you're not ready for it yet.

But, if you really need to get rid of it .....

The alternative would be like nemmo did, sample
the crap out of it then buy yourself a Vsynth GT
or even better a NordWave when it's released.

But then again, that would seriously hurt your budget.
So, in my book there's only one option, keep it.

I'm using my MicroKORG and my RADIAS and I think they compliment each other nicely--The Micro KORG has a dirty sound (especially when you stack its FX/layers) that offsets the RADIAS' surgically precise perfection. I've found it difficult to dirty up the RADIAS much. I'd say keep the Micro KORG and experiment with one on Bass the other on leads to see the KORG yin yang (dirty-clean or vice versa)
I'll think of a signature later...
