Using smartmedia card with computer

Post by dragon62s »

Is it possible to store electribe data on a computer by transferring it to the hard drive with a smart media card? If so, could someone tell me how to do this?

yes you can, and it's really simple. but to be honest, it's a bit long to write out, so I suggest you download a copy of the full manual from Korg, it's on page 85. After you load ithe data onto the Smartmedia, you then need a Smartmedia Reader to get it onto your computer, I got one from Amazon for about £15,and it's really handy for transferring samples back into the ESX.

Does this also work with moving EMX patterns to and from a PC?
If so, is there a place on the web where EMX users can share patterns?
If not, why not?

You can also dump your patterns and banks via sysex with a midi utility such as midiox which can save time when backing up or writing new patterns :)
