Battery

I was looking through Korg topics on another forum and saw one that discussed replacing a battery. I was unaware that the Nautilus AT has such a battery. The user guide simply says to contact Korg for the location of the closest Service Center.

Does anyone know about how long this non-user replaceable battery should last before the unit requires a service visit? 🤔

I've never changed the battery on my Kronos X, which I got around 13 years ago. When the Kronos and Nautilus batteries go, I plan on opening it up, myself. I've changed batteries on the OASYS a couple of times, but that only requires 2 screws to lift up the "hood." Kronos and Nautilus have a bunch of screws on the bottom. You put them on a soft cloth, upside down (don't let the screen rub against anything), and take the bottom off, being very careful with the keys assembly.

I haven't opened my Nautilus, but it should be very similar to the Kronos. I took all the screws off and removed only the bottom panel.

Note: I believe that opening it up yourself will void the Korg warranty.

It wouldn't surprise me if opening the enclosure voids the warranty. The manufacturer's warranty on my church's AT has expired. It is now on the extended warranty that I purchased from the dealer.

Maybe someday Korg, Yamaha and other manufacturers will position these button cells in such a way to make them readily accessible to end users for self replacement. 🤔
