Question for PA1000 owners

Hi...I am currently playing the Korg Kross 61 and enjoying its sounds but not the navigation/UI.

I know the PA series a little bit but just read about the Kaoss effects/arpeggiator grid and am now considering the 1000.

How easy is it to set up an arp pattern?
Do those who use them like them better than say the Pads w/ static loops?
Is there a way to store them within a soundset (what would be a Combi in workstation speak)?
