I think I either read or the manual eludes to. what is the maximum size for the SSD if looking to upgrade it since 53 GB is not really that much room and knowing that this can cause issues with sound libraries that would tend to act in an erratic manner.

or is it somewhat unlimited ?

There have been reports of successful upgrades of the Nautilus SSD to 128GB and also to 256GB. See here:
