Hi Folk,

I want to transfer some of the factory styles of my Pa3X to Pa5X.
How I can make it easily?

Sammy

Apply the SET naming scheme of the Pa4X to your Pa3x SET, i.e. rename the folders inside the Pa3X SET, and use the convert function in your Pa5X. It worked for me.

That's exactly the reason of 90% of Pa5X users who complain that no Pa5X OS version is stable
and this way will never be ... :D

Pa developers instructions are crystal clear , only Pa4X resources are compatible if will be converted
for Pa5X , the fast that other PaSeries resources can initially seem to work does not mean that existing
incompatible files code will not crash system ...
In fact even Pa4X files that were just imported in Pa4X/Pa1000 migrated from older models , are fully
compatible with Pa5X if converted ...

Choice is yours !

Hope this helps

Anthony - thank you for creating the 4X resources for 5X. Very useful and saved me a lot of time. I assume this was done by creating a SET on the 4X and running it through the converter on the 5X.

So, to be sure I understand you correctly, the only way to get legacy styles, i.e. pre 4X to work correctly in the 5X is for them to pass through the 4X?

Thanks,

Ron

I had no issues so far with converted Pa3X styles using the method I described.
In OS 1.2.0 and older there were issues with converted styles, even from native Pa4X sets.

You can also export the style as MIDI and import into the Pa5X, creating a new style. That style needs further editing then.

- Those were official Pa4X factory styles and bonus Styles , were gathered as BANKxx.STY in many folders and
then converted via Pa5X OS v1.2
- KorgPa legacy/factory styles usually work correctly after conversion , but Pa800 - Pa3X users custom styles must
be fully edited in Pa4X after importing else they will preserve false code and will crash Pa5X after conversion.
I've seen a whole Styles bank imported in Pa4X from Pa800 to disappear and crash Pa4X ...

The only safe way to transfer undefined older PaSeries Styles has been just mentioned before by fatih89
Export SMF all Styles elements from old PaSeries and import in Pa5X creating a new Style ...

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Anthony. And again, thanks for putting together the 4X Resources for 5X. This package took care of a very large part of what I wanted to add to the 5X.
Best Regards,
Ron
