Prologue Issues & Considering purchasing??

I have tried a Prologue in store and was impressed but it was a faulty one and waiting to be repaired. I am not sure what the fault was but didn't play well.
Since then I have considered getting one but now see they have been discontinued. I have heard that there are a lot of issues with this synth and so wondered if I could get some feedback from you all to help with my decision.
My other options are to go with a Sequential Pro 3, or OpSix maybe. I have an endless synth list which many I want but in reality probably don't need as I already have 2 Kronos's, Radias, Rev 2 & Wavestate and a Keystep pro.
Any help appreciated. Especially like to know the main issues with it and if easily fixed?

I had no issues at all with my 8-voice(3 years now), but read some posts people having some concern of their 16-voice ones. If solved or not I don't know.
I love Prologue to bits.

Thankyou for your response on this, I was considering the 16 voice version so this is good to know.
Perhapes someone with the 16 voice version might let me know what the issues are.
I love all my synths to bits...but always want more..

there are no substantive issues with this synth once 2.10 is loaded.
it was discontinued because of a unqualified european power supply issue - and the fact that a P16* contains NINETEEN processor chips in it. synths with just one processor aren't even getting built these days; a 19 chip synth is doomed unless costs/prices get back to what used to be normal.
P8 - 11 CPU chips!
XD - 7-8 CPU chips? I don't have the service manual for this one.
it's a brilliant Digital/HYBRID synth, if you're into that don't settle for less.

Maybe a bit unfair due to that third oscillator is digital multiengine to call it hybrid synth.
Most analog has digital effect section anyway.
It's 2 VCO analog with third oscillator digital option as I see it.
- and have effects off and all analog path

A "hybrid" synth mixes digital and analog signal components. Prologue is a hybrid synth. The term "Digital/Hybrid" makes no sense whatsoever.

Since the digital part, multi engine, is optional I say it's analog. Just keep third oscillator volume to zero.
Hybrid I call wavetable or something with analog filters. Then it's hybrid.
- as I recall Udo Supersix and Waldorf Quantum as examples
So calling Prologue hybrid is misleading IMO and why Korg call it analog as well.
- if I were to sell it, I would say double vco analog with optional third digital oscillator
And since 'nutty' meant "if you want that" I felt it was really unfair.
- like it was mandatory
- just don't use third oscillator
All analog path, keep effects off, as well.
My view anyway....

Yes, and it would be unsold since such a bad summary what it is....
I kept Prologue and sold Polybrute recently. I like the analog core tone better in Prologue and it offers so much more through user oscillators if wanting that for a preset.

It is sad that the Prologue got a bad rep "out of the gate" because of the tuning bugs (which are now fixed with the 2.10 update). It's a great synth, perhaps the best modern analog (and digital) Korg synth.

Love our Prologue-8 too! An incredible versatile machine! Hopefully they will squeeze out a v 2.2 or 3.0 with some more convenient shift functions. Also more LFO waveforms via Shift are welcome for example. But no tuning problems here. In fact, the only thing that could be problematic is the third party OSC/FX models, but slight chance if you ask us.
Did you end up buying one @spacegirl?

Hi to All Prologue users!
I still havn't quite got one yet. I have tried several times to buy one and just not had much luck. I will keep looking but there are so many other synths I want so it's hard to choose. I sometimes ponder do I really need another synth when I have so many already that can do wonderful and extraordinary sounds.
