Repair 'Variation 1 button'

The Variation 1 button on my Pa4X has started to be a bit finnicky, meaning that occasionally I need to press it 2-3 times before it operates correctly. It is a mechanical problem, not software related (as I can send a midi command from the iPad reader that I use to select Variation 1 and that always works flawlessly).

I was hoping that it would be a simple matter to swap the button with another that I rarely use such as 'Ensemble'.

BUT having viewed a few youTubes it seems (?) that the button is part of an integrated circuit board and I doubt that I have the skills to get involved in that.

Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

The better option is to take your Pa4x to an official service center.

Otherwise, you need to change the tact switch witch is under the variation 1 button by a skilled technician.

Thanks menara,

Definitely beyond my skill level, I will make inquiries about a service agent,

SOLVED: I ran my portable Dyson vacuum on full, with a soft brush attached. Passed it over the knob a few times and no more problems. Must have been a small bit of dust or something interfering with the button action.

Fingers crossed.

Interesting trick, I have just done it on one of mine and seems to have solved the problem.

Thank you.
