Can anyone tell me if there is an actual computer in the Nautilus as there was in the Kronos?

Thanks….

Yes, it does. See here for previous discussion:

The Nautilus SSD is an mSATA mounted underneath the motherboard.

Thanks,
I went ahead and ordered and Nautilus 73 anyway. I’m sure it will be fine. I was a bit concerned with the fact that the motherboard cpu design might reach it’s end of life. But, I had the original Kronos and the the Kronos 2 and neither of them ever failed me so I think it will be fine.

Hello

Kronos and Nautilus is really just a VST running under a custom 32 bit Linux OS and on a standard (industrial) motherboard from 2011.

However. It is the same for Yamaha Montage/Modx, but Yamaha has added a support chip for the effects.

Kurzweil and Roland on the other hand uses custom chips for their workstations.

Next step for Korg is to release Kronos/Nautilus as a VST plugin :)
