Hey guys,
My kid, (God bless him) turned off my kronos whilst I was trying to save something, now I have many sounds missing and "samples not loaded" message at top of screen. How do I get my sounds back?
Many thanks in advance,
Jed

The worst scenario due to destroy boot SSD files integrity is to power off PSU when saving data and the only reason that UPS
is required to be connected with your device !
Probably bad sectors and corrupted files have been created in SSD after this abrupt power supply off while under "write enable"
and you have either check disk via Linux OS utility nor reinstall Kronos full resources DVDs ...
Good luck !

I had a back up on usb, tried that and lost 2 set lists and the samples still didn't load. I feel sick to my stomach. I have gigs coming up and don't know what to do.

Jed
bear in mind the files you were trying to save are corrupted so you have to re-load an older back-up of same contents.
If factory Kronos resources that were loaded by default now are missing samples then as first open folder SSD/Factory/ load Pleload.PCG
you will find there and also place Preload.KSC in Global /Auto-Load and delete older one Preload.KSC that might be corrupted.
This way Kronos will be set to factory defaults , Restart , check if all are working correctly without missing samples and then try to load
your older saved resources under proper Kronos condition.
If factory resources still have issues you have to reset and load all resources using Kronos DVDs and a compatible USB DVD reader.
Hope this helps

You are so kind to try to help, but I am afraid I don't understand. I am not very technically minded and need instructions in simpler terms,, sorry

OK ,
First step , there is a folder in SSD called "Factory" , you can browse files there in Disk mode , find file Preload.PCG and load it as it is.
Restart Kronos and see if you will see "samples are not loaded" warning mesage.
If not then test factory resources to see that are working properly and let me know.

Are you trying to say, Do a factory reset and THEN use my saved USB data?

Okay, I tried to load Preload PCG. When I restart there is a message: "Auto Load Error. There was not enough memory to load the following KSC files :Preload KSC"

Yep , in a way , we have to investigate if you have further SSD corrupted data !

OK , you must go to GLOBAL/Auto - load page , delete Preload.KSC you can find and uncheck boxes of any other existing KSC file there.
- In this page press Add tab , browse SSD/Factory/ find Preload.KSC file , press "Add" and Preload Now or restart.
If no message appears this time , system seems to work fine and let me know.

Also in Global/Auto-load page remark info about installed Ram memory if is over 3GB , I suppose you 're talking about Kronos X/2

There is a warning box that says:
This will erase all EXs and RAM samples and then load the selected KSC files. Are you sure you want to proceed?"
Should I go ahead?

Yes , you will just reload a healthy copy of Preload.KSC
