Just got this 01WFD. Physically in great condition however:
It will only boot into the flash screen that says KORG 01WFD
Holding reset displays the rom# and date. The Rom # 39 appears.
HOLDING RESET + COMPARE has no affect.
The FDD spins.
The Red light above COMBI is red.

Not sure where to begin beyond opening it up looking for swollen caps ets.
I will replace the 2 Eeproms with Rom 62 when it arrives.



Your thoughts would be most helpful to restore this unit.

I also do have another fully functional O1WFD

The psu was checked. Voltages are correct as seen with readings of +/- 12 & 5 vdc. Checked the motherboard. Caps look good with some esr values questionable.

Not sure where else I can go. The original service manual does not have more info.... and I cant find another MB TO TEST.

Currently LOADED with ROM 62


ANY THOUGHTS ?
