Hi,

I remeber that when I had Korg Pa3x, there was a trick that allowed to unlock 16 STS per style. Do you know if it is possible with Pa4x ?

With Autoselect-Performance of Pa3x it was possible to prepare additional 16 performances that could be selected with direct access to the performance buttons.
It was necessary to prepare 16 performance-settings in small global-files (*.gbl) to be loaded from a root-directory in parallel to a style.

With Pa4x doing the same with Autoselect-KeyboardSets is limited to 12 additional STS, because there only are 12 button for direct access.

It’s possible to use the 4 keyboard sets in your style / songbook entry and any of the keyboard sets in you factory,user or direct library if you have the auto select turned off via the global menu.

Why bother with the row of keyboard set buttons,when you can touch keyboard

Direct using of touch screen is only satisfactory if display of the desired function is active - direct access buttons are more advantageous (also with "Display Hold" OFF).

While playing the simple access to functions depends on the internal data structure of the Pa keyboard. If you use the available functions advantageous in combination, it is still possible to remain reasonably variable without filling up the individual data areas without duplicates.

Using touch screen for Keyboard-Sets organization is bound to the hierarchical structure (group / bank / pages / KbdSet 1-8) to organize KbdSets serial. That causes a huge amount of duplicates, if organized to be used for single styles with the intention to act as additional STS for a single style.

It think is easier to organize Autoselect-Settings in gbl-files without that shortcoming of duplicate entries in the KeyboardSet-Library or to be organized serial for a specific style, but with the advantage of direct access via buttons. To select keyboard set on the touch screen also always is available additional - at least for a short time after KbdSet-Selection via Autoselect before "Display Hold" OFF is effective.

Of course, you can also prepare a selected User KbdSet bank for reloading styles so that you can select a maximum of 6 pages with 8 Kbd sets on a touch screen or via Previous / Next from 1 to 48 and retour.

This is a matter of taste, but in relation to the OP, the question about the 16 performance settings is probably via the AutoSelect function of the Pa3x.
