hi....I'm considering the KK and the Jupiter X.
looking for some more/less immediate analog gratification -- the ability to pull up a sound, make quick modifications, and then record it. the Jupiter looks deep but not all that flexible. the King looks easy to engage but possibly not as comprehensive.
one thing I don't like re the Jupiter is the "intelligent" arpeggiator -- seems gimmicky. it looks easier to work with/subtract/modify the 8 steps on the KK arp.
I understand there's more layering possibility w/ the Jupiter. how much menu diving is required to build a two-timbre sound or split?
thanks in advance for any/all insights...

Since I've been staying home a lot more I decided to do a deep dive into my KK. Can't tell you much about the Jupiter but I think the KK is a very deep synth. I've had mine now for several years and for some reason never really tried much in the way of programming it. The thing that I don't like is all the menu diving but that's just me. In order to have a one know per function panel it would have to be enormous. There are a lot of parameters you can adjust.

Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

I don’t think there’s much menu diving at all. Bring up any starting patch, hit SPLIT button and you’re there. Turn main edit knob one spot to left for layer.
Somehow it’s gotten a bad rap for menu diving, but I think this was designed as a gigging synth, everything is reached quickly once you understand the interface.
When in edit mode the category buttons work as shortcuts to anything you can edit. Most of the knobs and buttons can be dual purpose with use of the shift key.
