Change velocity on K61

Hi all

I have a K61 (not the P version) and am wondering how to change the velocity? (The K series software does not work on macOS Catalina.)

If some now knows a way to do this on the keyboard itself, or with Garageband, or with any other means - please let me know!

Thanks much

It can be done from the keyboard itself, when it is powered up. The K-series controllers have 3 velocity curves plus a constant (127) velocity setting. To select the velocity curve, hold down [BANK] button until the K-Series enters the Setting mode, then press the Program 1 [PIANO 1/E.P. 1/ORGAN 1] button (the button will flash). Now press the piano keys, as follows: C4 for (soft), C#4 (standard), D4 (hard), D#4 (const). The relevant keys are the ones nearest the middle of the keyboard.

Thanks voip

That'd work on the K61P - I only have the K61, and there's no BANK key. The manual describes the procedure for the K61P, but I cannot see how this works for the K61.

The K61 was actually in a state with constant velocity, and I did a hard reset where it now has dynamic velocity. So it can manage both (with and without dynamic). I just have no clue on how to change with without the (now defunct) Korg Mac software...

The original user manual for the K61 (not P) seems rather elusive.

Using the Windows K-series Editor, and Korg MIDI drivers, might be an approach, if it is possible to access a suitable PC.
