I recently purchased a used Pa3x in Canada, which says it's Oriental version (1.60) on the boot-up screen, but not on the keyboard itself, and I know the OR version is not sold in Canada. The FCC warning on the back reads it's compatible with Canadian standards and is Made in Italy.

Even after doing a factory restore, the On/Off buttons for the Real Time Tracks are mapped to sub scales SC1, 2, 3, 4, rather than upper 1, 2, 3 & Lower.

I thought this might be because the previous owner loaded oriental version on a regular keyboard, which apparently is not possible according to the posts in this very forum. Should I try and load regular OS on this to fix the issue?

Can someone please help me? The previous owner wasn't a keyboard player, but got it for his band. I asked him to reach out to his keys player who might have any idea, but I thought someone here might know what's happening.

Just load the regular OS from korg site for your keyboard. And it will go back to normal mode. But you will not be able to get back to the oriental again. What that means is that you will loose thoose samples and styles that comes with it from libanon in the ROM storage.

I tried, but it says it can't find Pa3x_OS_LEB.pkg, so I did a factory reset which loaded all regular sounds and styles, but still reads Oriental on bootup.
My first problem is that I can't get the style change and STS buttons to work at all. The second being I can't remap the Real Time Tracks to their original function.

How did you manage to load the regular factory OS on yours?

Also, I observed that if you load Oriental v1.11, the style change & STS buttons work fine, but they won't after you upgrade to v1.60

I just bought an oriental 1.60 and connot load the regular 1.63 on it

I purchased a regular Pa3x with the !.60 Oriental software.. I have the same issues.PLus the style change and STS mode buttons do not light up . Is it the same for you?

This was a fair while ago when I had my PA3X (intnl version) - back then I remember being told not to mix the OS (International loaded onto oriental) and only load the correct OS for the model of keyboard else the keyboard could be in a semi-locked state and unable to be further updated. If I remember correctly, that information came from Korg.

How do you plan to do that?
It still won't change the PA3X version in the end and may leave you with problems.

Big risk - I definitely wouldn't do it.
