Microkey to control another keyboard

Hello. I need the most little keyboard to cover up two neccesities: to use it to work with DAWs, and to control a KROSS2 in live performances. I was thinking on buyin a microkey25, but then noticed that it lacks midi in/out ports. The 37key version has 2 usb ports, so the question is: can the microkey37 control the KROSS2 via those standard USB ports?

Not directly, since the Kross 2 cannot act as a USB host device. It could be done indirectly via a computer.
Or there is this device:

It might be worth emailing the company to check compatibility to be doubly sure, though one of the reviewers says it works perfectly with their microKeys MkII 49-key.
It doesn't work with devices that contain an integral USB hub; there is a link on the site to software that will allow you to check if the microKey has such an embedded device though, based on the reviews, an integral hub seems unlikely.

Did this ever work out? I have a microkey air 49 and am getting very little use from it. It would be great if I could control another keyboard with it.
