Hi Friends,
I have a Pa300 SET which I am trying to load in Pa1000 however I am getting some errors as follows
1) When I try to load the global file, it gives an error saying "it is not a Pa1000 file"..
2) when loading USERDK ( an Indian Kit ) it is saying " Sound loading is incomplete, Some items are not found"

I wonder if the SET's from the older models like PA300 works on Pa1000..

Any thoughts?

Thanks

You need to load the sounds and styles manually. You can do this with the media button. Than open the the SET folder, select the sound folder and load it. Do the same for styles and pads.

Hi there,
You cant load Global folder from another model.
About the " Sound loading is incomplete, Some items are not found" warning, some drum Kits or user sounds, have some errors (empty notes or oscilators). You can load sound by sound, and the ones with errors, you can repair them, or just leave them like that, because its not a big problem.

Thank you..

I notice the error is coming from an Indian Kit within the USERDK file.. Kindly advice, how to repair it.
Kind Regards.

Its not that hard to corect the errors. Just need to enter in Sound edit mode, select that drum kit and check every key for empty sample. When you find them, replace them with corect samples, or copy them from another drum kit using top-righ menu and copy drum kit option.

Hello angelitto,

Question on the USERDK.. I have two userdk files from two Oriental Sets.. Is it possible to load them side by side. What I noticed so far, when I load one, it breaks the styles for another .. I do see Drumkit1 and 2 on the Pa1000 screen, but I don't know if there are some limitations or not..

Thoughts please?

Thanks

You can load them side by side, as many as you like, if you have space in RAM and locations in UserDK1 and 2, of course. When you load a drum kit, take care and save it in an empty location. Try not to overwrite the old drum kits.

Thanks angelitto..
So can I presume, the max no of USERDK files we can load in Pa1000 is DrumKit1 and DrumKit2? Once those are filled , no new once can be loaded right? Is it possible to merge two UserDK files into one? or a possibility of expansion of Memory.. of course you told me how to compress it too. When we compress, will there be a delay in loading the styles or sounds?

Warm Regards,

Yes. Once UserDK1&2 are filled with drum kits, you cant import more, only if you overwrite an existing one.
Its possible to merge two drum kits (this job is for advanced users), but after that, the styles needs to be customized to play corect with that drum kit. Its hard work and not worth it, in my opinion.
No delay with compression, and no quality loss either.

Cheers!

You can find out in two ways.
1. If you have Korg Pa Manager, load the set with that style into the program and see what sounds, perc, and drum kits is used with that particulary style, and after that you need to import them along with the style. Korg Pa Manager will do that automaticaly so no stress for you.
2. Second metod, using only the keyboard. Save your set, do a factory restore, load new set. Find that particulary style, note down what sounds, perc and drum kits are used. Then do a factory restore again and load your saved set. Load the style and load the sounds you noted down, too. If you load them in diferent locations than original ones, you need to edit the style and assing the corect sounds to it.
