Seems kinda complicated so I'm gonna bring it to a "professional ".

But it's not a keyboard I use regularly anymore.

So my questions are:

How long do I have before something horrible happens?

Do I REALLY need to change it soon?

It's actually pretty easy to change the battery. Flip it upside down, remove cover "A" and replace it. The operations guide has detailed instructions.

The only purpose of the battery is to maintain the calendar that stores the date and time when you save a song. If you don't care about the date and time there is no need to rush to replace it.

As for replacing it myself, I did turn it over but it looks like just one solid piece. No compartments....unless I have to remove that first.

So I opened up the bottom panel and found cover A. Looks like a puzzle just to get it open. Is there a video tutorial out there?

Ya, my bottom doesn't look like that for some reason, it's a simple flat panel that can be removed to show the cover A and B panels (that's the easy part). Cover A appears to be partially tucked into a plastic overlay of where the radias is secured.

I don't know why this is different and I don't know why they designed it this way. I compare it to having to remove the engine from a car just to put oil in it. Very poorly designed.

That's strange ... I never saw one where you couldn't access the panels. Post a picture if you can.

Hopefully you can see this since I didn't know how to upload images to this.

As you can see the second image only reveals one screw while the second is under the plastic overhang.

its hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the module is in the lowered position. If in the raised position you should be able to get at it with a short screwdriver. I've done it.
