Mistake in Parameters Guide

Post by Liviou2004 »

I found a mistake in the Parameters Guide, page 197 :

It's about AL-1 Exi, 4–3c: Sub OSC/Audio Input
External Audio [Audio Inputs 1…4,
S/P DIF L, S/P DIF R]
This list is a wrong one. Because Audio Input 3 and 4 do not exist ! The right list is :

Image[/img]

So, we notice that there is two USB inputs. But the manual does not explain what they are and how to use them (what kind of file, etc....)

my guess is that USB/bus select/3/4 is what you might be looking for

I am not clear on the context of your question.

Lets start with Global. USB is a global function. It handles audio in and audio/midi out. Thats my understanding

More context- I use USB to interface my Kronos to MainStage. Lots of folks
use USB to route to their DAW.

I am not an AL-1 sound programmer. Its possible some might want to route an external sound using USB Audio sampling In.

There could more places in Parameter Guide where Input 3 and Input 4 are mentioned instead of USB 1 and USB 2 - e.g. see image on page 441 Kronos Parameter Guide E10. These are is probably relicts from some legacy doc versions.

Probably based on the OASYS's parameter guide. The Oasys has 4 inputs.

Yep. Probably the biggest thing that I miss on the Kronos.

If you plug your computer into the kronos using the USB-A port on the kronos, then your computer will show the kronos as a stereo audio output (I'm not sure if you need to install drivers for this, I suspect not because it works out of the box on my linux machine). The USB1/USB2 things in the list you are looking at are referring to the left and right channels of this output.

By your question, I think you were expecting this to be using a usb memory stick - but that isn't what it means.
