What's your best/most durable Kronos carrying case?

Post by Korggal2015 »

Got the Gator semi-rigid 88 key - was doing good but under a year the wheels are busting up and the handle is tearing off. Maybe have used the case about 25 times.. would have thought I'd get more use out of it. Anyone have a durable case they recommend? Thanks!

I had the same experience with that semi-rigid case. They get torn up too quickly, and not as light as I would expect them to be. The molded cases seem to meet the best of protection, durable, and light. SKB makes a nice one.

I've got Flightcase Warehouse cases for both my 88 and 73 (with wheels) and they are pretty much indestructible! Much recommended

I have the official Korg plastic case for my 61 key model, which is OK, but I never wheel it. Don't like the thought of all of that vibration unseating components!

I have full flight cases for all my keyboards and wouldn't trust anything else.

My Oasys 76 has been gigged on and off for 10 years in its flight case (with wheels at one end) without any problems.

I had a Gator semi-rigid for my KX-88 - it broke after 2 months or so. Wheels busted, tears. I now have a Gator rigid, it's a plastic case but very solid, plenty of cushioning inside and durable wheels. Probably carried it out 100+ times by now and still looks brand new. And it fits the KX-88 like a glove.

This helps. Thank you all so much! Unfortunately, Korg doesn't make cases for the original Kronos X they said

I've got a Gator TSA for my 73 Kronos. All working fine after around 4 years. Many flights it's had with a Stage 2 88 in it. New Kronos hasn't been flown yet... My old Kronos 61 was in the smaller version and no problems.

As I have mentioned here before, I prefer the great but hard-to-find Groove Pak 61 soft case with wheels. Semi-rigid sides..lightweight, used every wknd.
for 3 years with no problem...PERFECT fit for Kronos and Kronos 2 -61.

Sold only at Sam Ash...99.00.

cheers

I use the Gator PK TSA cases, mostly due to cost/value and weight. Great protection, though I'm not a fan of the one-size-fits-most concept, foam smashing down on the knobs.

Feedback on Gator - My 88 sized case had the suitcase handle bust right off while carrying my Kronos. Submitted claim, took photos, elected to "field destroy" the case, and they sent me a brand new case. Hard to beat that kind of service.

Lastly, keep them out of the sun for those outside gigs. The plastic warps pretty easy on a summer day.

I don't know where you are Korgal but if you live in Canada, buy a custom built case from Clydesdale Custom Cases. That's what I use for my old K73.
Mind you, I work there.

Thanks for the tip. Well, the Gator is still under warranty so I received a replacement for free although I was hoping to upgrade to something better. Will still look around for a hard case
