I loathe Korg’s Amp-EGs

Post by engineerjoel »

I loathe the way Korg’s Amp-EG’s do not shut-off the sound after you have raised the RELEASE TIME to ‘99’ and then back to ‘0’.

The sound continues to hang like a stuck note. Eventually, after some long period of time, the sound will fade away. This phenomenon happens on my M50, Krome and Kronos.

My Yamaha and Roland’s EG’s don’t behave like this. Why can’t Korg get it right?

I don't know a reason, but when pressing the COMPARE switch, sound will stop immediately, so use it.

Could be something to do with SST...

Like onsenonsen says, COMPARE is your friend...

From memory, any EG times that are adjusted whilst sounding notes are in that phase of the EG aren't updated.
