Installing Demo libraries from Korg Store

I want to try out some of their products but have not been able to because I get the popular "failed. exsinstall.exsins file error". I've tried using different USB (all of which have various Kronos libraries on them already, thus I know it's correctly formatted.) I've followed the following instructions:

Installing EXs
Unzip the downloaded EXs.zip file.
Unzipping the archive will result in a folder containing several different files.
Copy the unzipped EXs folder to a USB storage device, such as flash memory or a USB hard drive.
Safely disconnect the USB storage device from your computer.
Connect the USB storage device to one of the KRONOS’s two USB A ports.
Press the DISK button to enter Disk mode.
Touch the "Utility" tab.
Using the "Drive Select" menu at the bottom of the page, select the USB storage device.
Touch the folder containing the EXs data from step 2, then touch "Open."
Touch the EXs.exsins file to select it.
Select "Install EXs" from the drop-down menu, or simply touch "Install".

This is where the error shows up.

I have no other samples and everything else works. Just can't load these libraries. If I can't load these Demos, what's the use in buying any. Help!

You say ''USB Storage device "

You should use a USB Thumb drive that is formatted for korg fat 32

I copied over all related files last time i got a sound set off the website. Zipped and unzipped alike.
Get them all on the kronos formated USB thumb drive and sort out the difference in Kronos. Kronos knows "illegal files" and lets me delete them once kronos determines them. Of course "file error" and "illegal file" are different.
File error could be in the unzipping process or even a bug in the computer while downloading.
Seems you have the right media and format since you have other sound sets working fine as useable kronos files.

I would delete them off you USB media and start over again and copy over all related files, zipped and unzipped after you have downloaded and unzipped. I think i recall kronos accepting an unzipped version before but of course i had selected unzip for it before taking it and the resulting unzipped folder to Kronos disk.
It's been a while and i have only done the new sound set process twice.

I have to point out 2 basic reasons that an EXs installation fails :
- Usb thumb drive must be formatted in Kronos.
- When Unzip/UnRar , select option "here" because "Install EXs" file must be present in the first level of "XXX EXs"
folder and not in a second subfolder !

I AM using a Korg formatted USB thumb drive.

I finally got it to work after downloading it again. Perhaps there was a glitch the first, second, and third time that I've downloaded this. But now I need to know… Where the heck is it? In other words what bank can I find the stuff in? On another note it is still telling me that the demo illegal but I don't really care about that anyway.

its a little hard to follow what happened.

It sounds like you got the ' download , install process ' to work

I do not understand your ' demo illegal '. If you d/l's EXs from the official Korg
site of authorized 3rd parties, I do not believe you should get ' demo illegal'

It appears to me you are d/l'g/installing some other kind lookalike EX sample.

Go to GLOBAL/ KSC Auto load to see the title of the EXs you installed.

The samples or EXs are new Programs. Look at the PDF that came with the EXs and review the Program name list. Then search your Kronos for the new Programs. I use that Magnification Glass icon ( or Find) when in Program mode

I found the sounds on my hard drive. So, SUCCESS!

When I said I tried to open the file and got the illegal message, i was referring to the file called: EXs62.tar.gz which I thought was a song demo. Perhaps it was just an accessory to the EXs62.exsins file...i dunno. But I downloaded all of these files from the Korg website or their associated stores (i.e. KApro, Sounds of Planet et al).

Anyways, I got it to install
