I have a Kronos 2 61 note.

I've recently noticed that the right side of my Kronos' signal has got a fairly loud hiss. Irregardless of whether you're using the stereo jack outputs or the headphones.

This hiss is on all on board programs and all combinations. However, this is the strange part. The hiss is only on about 80% of my user created combinations. The remaining 20% are TOTALLY silent. No hiss at all. If I initialize a combination with no hiss, the hiss will return.

I've tried to copy settings from the non-hiss combinations but nothing works. I've also tried to make the non-hiss programs hiss, just to find out what is creating the hiss, but to no luck.

Starting to drive me mad! Any help would be massively appreciated!!

Sounds like it might be a hardware problem, but if you don’t have the latest 3.0.4 OS installed, then try installing that and see if it clears. Here's a link to the OS. Good Luck!

This can happen when audio knobs on the back of kronos are turned too loud. try turning down the manual audio knobs on the back.

try some basic trouble shooting

what about the factory programs and combis ?

experiment with the mic/line setting switch and dial to see if that is some impact.

disconnect all other midi/usb devices

I also agree that the input settings can be the usual suspect,either the hardware latches/rotary volume controls or the main audio input/routing screen...sliders etc.

Worth checking them first.

This is a really dumb question, but is it effects based? Some of my Hammond sounds are quire noisy by virtual of how the amp and leslie effects are set.

As mentioned above, I used to have some noticeable noise due to input gains. From memory there is a global setting to disable the inputs, which I set, and you can enable them in any patches that then need to use the inputs.

Glad that's all it was. As suggested, it might be an idea to disable the inputs if you do not need them all the time, and you can just turn them on in the patches/combis that need them.

I had the same problem long ago ... except both volumes where up so I had a harder time finding it out ... now I know (it very occasionaly happens when I put my Kronos out/in its case and the knobs are rotated).

Together with the VJS accidentally touching and having no sound, probably the two most annoying problems if you don't encounter them before.
