Dear Anyone.

I KNOW that out there, somewhere, is a Korg Kronos Emulator VST (i.e. a software version of a Kronos.) Thing IS - now I've saved enough money to buy it, I can't remember what the danged thing's called and I've lost the piece of paper I wrote its name down on.

Can anyone help me out (once they've stopped laughing!) I DO remember it was very roughly 80 Euros (that's very rough, I've got the dough if it's more than that) but just cannot recall where I saw it.

Help!?!

Yours frustratedly

No

it might be a silly Kontakt conversion like this (which is just bad sampling)

THANX!!! But you don't seem overly enamoured with it...

Dear Street.

That's the one I saw awhile back when I was broke! But you don't seem to think it's that good?

I'm a wannabe New Age composer, just looking for a source of soft New Agey pads - you know the type, sound like church organs being played in space, soft, gentle pads that are a BIT like 'Choir Oohs' but synthier. Like here...

or here... (after the ghastly advert!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNJDn8VcZ9Q

but I've not got the thousands to buy the real workstation, you see. Do you think the NorCtrack would be good enough for those kinda sounds? I'm hoping to avoid TOO much programming because I'm not good at programming synths, just wanted a bunch of presets making these kinda sounds.

Thanks for your help, even if you choose not to answer this bit.

Chris.

Get Omnisphere.

Sampling just can't capture the reLtime dynamics of the engine.
Yes, get the omnisphere as well as some plugins suitable for your needs , like the Waldorf Nave

Omnisphere would pretty much be your only choice here nowadays and imho, a good choice!
a few months ago, I would've recommended you to go with Alchemy (by Camel Audio), this is an amazing soft synth for these kind of sounds.
If you're considering using Logic (MAC only) it comes free of charge and it's absolutely beautiful in every way.

You might be able to get this one for free now. I'm not sure. Z3TA+. I have a version of it on my iPad and I really like it. I think it was originally made to run on a computer.
Nowadays it seems that most people if they still use it, use it for modern dance type stuff but I always liked the slow moving pad sounds it had.

If you're on a serious budget, you might want to look for it.

Waldorf Nave is also really good!

Omnisphere is the best but as far as I knwo, very far from cheap or free.

For New Agey style music I would recommend these soft synths.
