i posted this into the mac users forum a week ago, and i was told to try it in the product related forum since the mac forum gets little attention, so here we go
_____

hello there

i have tried to find a solution for my problem in this forum before but i just couldnt find an entry that fit my situation.

i got myself a beautiful kaossilator pro plus and also recently a new macbook pro with garage band 10.1 on it, but i just cant seem to get these two connected.
the cord (usb) seems to correctly connect these two dumb cows, garage band notifies me about the occupancy of one of the midi channels and the kaossilator is also shown in the so called audio-midi-setup.
so far i didnt figure out which levers and buttons i have to push to get sound from the synthie into garage band and it is really getting nerve-wracking.

please be patient with me since i just recently got into digital music making and i am not yet conforming to certain terminology and techniques

i am thankful for any help !

I don't own a Kaossilator (yet) but I have a Mac so maybe I can help. If I got you right there is only a USB-cable connection established now.

To get sound over USB into a Mac the external device has to have soundcard capabilities. The sound needs to be converted from analog to digital to be able to travel over USB. If a external device does not have those capabilities then USB can be only used to transmit MIDI information and other data. Check the Korg manual, the chapter about connecting to computers.

BTW, you get sound into your Mac very simple: by connecting audio-out of your device or instrument with the audio-in of the external soundcard.

Cheers, D

Dragon is correct. The KPro does not support audio over USB. You will need a compatable audio interface.
