Pretty amazing stuff there, reverse engineering it. My hats off to you TomTom. If your software hack can come to fruition and you market it I would not hesitate to buy a Krome.

Hello,
thank you.

I am still working on a it...but :

If i make a ksf to img conversion tool, you will still need to write your ksc using a commercial tool.

I was thinking to a free based solution instead.

I have made a new tool to make "drum kit" style sample pack (only free sound for copyright reason) from zero...and without modifying any existing commercial pack.

If it works properly, i would probably ask beta testers to check on their krome.
Who is interested ?

Expect a video today :)

The end...

META.IMG and SAMPLE.IMG files creation from zero :)

If i only use free sounds, sample pack can be freely released.

Hello Tomtom. (Sorry for my english)
.
I got to see your video on Youtube, you are very good and I congratulate you for the samples you are unable to load the Krome
For the moment I do not understand how you can develop the file.
I'd like to try to load your set of samples on my Krome to try and give you more feedback.

Thank you for your great work.

Andrea.

hello,

i've have sent the files to 3/4 people for beta-testing.

There is no PCG file provided since you just have to create a new prog (uninitialized settings)

Then Go to the Page 2 : OSC/Pitch
Then click on the multisample field "mono" and switch to the "OPT.M" bank.
Then select the first multisample called SAMPLEPACK 4 KROME 1.

Test the 16 new samples. (www.freesound.org only)

Make a clear feedback.

Sincerly yours,

Cyph/Tomtomheaven

Hello Tomtomheaven

I ran your Beta Test

1) I uploaded as per your instructions on the file Krome.
2) I chose a program free (clean) and 2: OSC / Pitch then OPT.M
3) I ran the SAMPLEPACK 4 KROME 1
3) I played the 16 samples on my Krome.

Everything works fine, I can confirm successful.

(Confirm that the samples are not very attractive, but are fine for testing)

Are you a great, you have shown that it can play Krome personal samples

Thank you for the great work.

Andrea

Thank you for the feedback !

I recognize that the free samples are not "sexy" :)
But, it was just a proof and a Beta-test.

Bye

This "sample pack" beta test also works on my Krome

Thanks all.

So what are the next steps ?

Well, here is my plan :

1) Keep on reversing files because samples attributes are not tuned in my META.IMG...

ex sometimes, samples may saturate because i've put some "standard" settings.

2) Make a real instrument with few multisamples "like" the Zamponia from the SD Card from PERU.

Yes, because what i am able to generate for the moment is only a "drum kit" or "sample pad" instrument.

3) Make an "official" tool, maybe in java...

4) Make a reverse-engineering on system update files :)
(what a crazy man...)

Sincerly yours,
Cyph / tomtomheaven
