While I'm still in a dream state - A merger with Nord and a Modular "G3" Engine for Kronos.

News just in that there will be a home cabinet version of the Korg PA3x 61 keyboard available late September. With polished black stand sides, this instrument will grace any home. Due to have its world wide preview on Tuesday 4th September at the Keyboard Cavalcade festival.

A kronos rack would be cool, I can't imagine it being anything else to do with the Kronos because they've just released the Kronos X.

Again, with the SV1, they recently gave the SV1 a facelift, so if it's any major changes, then I can't imagine retailers being too happy, having just ordered in a load of the facelift/reverse SV1s only to discover they're now an outdated model.

I'm hoping it's some kind of analog beauty [-o< although another Micro product would be cool, especially as it's the 10th anniversary of the MK.

IMO it's Korg M50 replacement. It will probably have Kronos PCM section wtih no sampling and no other synth engines.

Well, IMO to call it a major announcements means it is not simply a new product presentation... neither kronos was defined in this way.... I think this will be korg entering (or returning ) in a new segment (analog synth? drum machine? ) or a big aquisition or jv with another manufactor

That's the way it strikes me too - not a product; it's a business thing; I guess it's possible it's a product, but like you say it's maybe returning to something - eg Multi-tracks (they stopped after the D3200XD)...

Yamaha bought Korg because their current flagship workstation is still based on early 90s technologies so for Yamaha it was cheaper to buy Korg then reserch and creat a better Workstation then Kronos?

Korg will be manufacturing the Schmidt analog synth.

THAT would be a major announcement.
