In all fairness, RAM can fail in anything though - and unless Korg have got into manufacturing RAM, they will (imho, quite rightly) tell you to "do one" as all Korg would do is replace the ram.
They also wouldn't bear the brunt of the cost simply because the user (to his/her benefit) has upgraded the standard ram spec (in terms primarily of capacity, but no doubt quality).
At BEST, they would give you some replacement ram sticks from their stock. Can't do anymore than that though, unless you're expecting a goodwill gesture from Korg?
That wouldn't work, as EVERYBODY would want more RAM and it still won't be the same spec as the better RAM the user has installed.
But it does seem to be a very good upgrade for Kronos.

I wouldn't expect anything from them since, as you pointed out, the solution was also an upgrade for which I would have had to pay parts and labor. $52 is cheap, IMO. However, if they do want the 'bad RAM' back for testing (a measure of their inquisitiveness into this issue in the first place), then I'd expect they'd cover postage or throw me a free sound expansion download.
a) to investigate
b) to get their RAM reseller to responsibility in case of more than very few failures (here alone in this forum we have seen more startup failures, than good for the reputation of such a flagship device)
They will certainly be ready for some kind of appropriate bonus or at least postage coverage in this case of failure and investigation.

I also get these errors and my previous post did not get posted. So this is a summary: excuse me for saying it was SPAM.
For users who want to upgrade their memory themselves: check the Korg RAM specifications, almost any brand has compatible RAM (I remember a post for Corsair Memory working too), but probably also Kingston, OCZ etc will work.

Me, I used some value ram for the upgrade. Working fine.

Value RAM probably will work too but it''s best for such an expensive instrument to not rely on the cheapest of the cheapest RAM to earn a few bucks.
Ram is, IMO, not something to skimp on. There is a level I always buy...it's not the "best", because the only benefit to the highest priced ram is its ability to withstand over clocking, which I have no interest in...but, low CAS Latency...Mushkin Black type level.
That's for my sampler machines. For a general web surfer, crucial or such is solid stuff.
What you get, IME, for the money is generally the best performing in QC...thus more consistent and stable under variable conditions. I avoid budget ram like the plague. Why? It MIGHT be as good as the Mushkin...but, It might not. No one really QC'd it....else, it's made from the chips other manufacturers rejected in their QC process.
