List sent to various email addresses at Korg USA and UK (don't know any Japanese, solly-solly..) yesterday.
The good people at the drivers lab have been listening before.
So let's hope they code something together for the next update.

incredible!
I was thinking very strongly about this yesterday!

Maybe someone mentioned, but there is one feature i realy don't understand how they could miss...

the midi in signal, cannot be transfered to a computer via the USB....
How come?

It is a realy strange idea to put two ports, one for the midi-in and the other for midi-out....

Anyway! thanls alot for your dedication maako! I think you could be a precious element for the korg factory! :)

Have a nice week all!

...can you really talk to KORG and have a response???
If so, please, let Him knows about the "Kaossilator III" forum!

I'll leave that mission to you..
Shouldn't there be a Kaossilator II first..?

And yes, Korg do respond. I got this earlier today.

Code: Select all

I’ll pass this onto our product development team in charge of DJ products. Thanks for your suggestions.

multi-fx and guitarists

SMK, you're absolutely right about guitarists buying up every KP if Korg added multi-fx and midi floorpedal control. Its all thats stopping me from buying one.

*Surely* Korg will see the trends: people modding their guitars with KP's, and the surge in other instrumentalists using guitar multi-fx and loop pedals. There's a huge market for it as a multi-fx/looper for all kinds of musicians who don't have hands to spare.

A floorpedal unit KP with either some foot-toggle thingy or an expression pedal you could map touchscreen motions to could blow every multi-fx and loop pedal away. But for now i'm backing your suggestions for 2.5 or a KP4. What do we do? Pray? Lobby our MPs? Occupy their offices?

MIDI record - No.13

Hi, I just bought a KP3 to go with my Triton extreme, love it - but just wanted to register my agreement with number 13 (midi sample record), & the above post (pedal boards)

I've got a midi pedal board, & was slightly disapointed I couldn't record loops using the pedal board whilst playing with both hands.

I can't understand why you can trigger bank playback but not recording - I think better midi control is the most important improvement Korg need to make to this great tool.

Dreams for the next update

First I need to be able to load samples from memory while others are playing. I wish the title of the sample would scroll like the name of the effect. Its hard to remember 02,09,20,ect... I would love a multi-effect option. Something along the lines of Soundtower where you can edit all of your patches and then dump them into your synth. I would love to be able to hack into the drums and add my own through the software.

I know this is a hardware one, but the auto BPM does suck and needs to be improved. I always tap because it just can't be trusted. The Urei 1601s sampling mixer is the best loop sampler I have ever had the pleasure of using, drunk. Mash the button where ever, when ever and it cuts a perfect loop. Amazing. Ive noticed that the line level indicator doesn't represent anything other than distortion. When the loop auto plays which I can't stand, its much quieter than the line level even if its trimmed to just clip. If I bring it up to line level it distorts :( With all of Korg's experience I would think these things could be addressed. Overall I'm very happy with this product so far. Thanks

Check the KP3 Editor Owner's Manual. Page 7

Code: Select all

Global edit page
Here you can view and edit global parameters.
You can turn everything off there. Nothing we need to notify Korg about I guess.. :?

In EXT.CTRL mode, I would appreciate it if the lights on the switches could turn on and off in Toggle switch-type.
If you are sending Note Ons and Offs or Controllers such as #64, it would be great for keeping track of what is On and Off.
An new option under the PAD LED menus (as was added for Loop) would let people have their preference.

Also, if there's memory and CPU to do it, it would be terrific to have the 4 buttons to the right of the pad also available as external controllers.

Cheers!

I realize that the KP3's design leans towards beat-oriented musics.
Unless they are one-shot samples, the sample lengths are always quantized
to 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16. This precludes having samples of different lengths (which
are not exact multiples of each other) cycling against each other to produce
constantly shifting combinations (which is very good for soundscapes).

A switch to allow one-shot samples to loop without being quantized would
be a wonderful addition to the sonic possibilities of the KP3.

I'm not sure if it has been said already, but I'd love it if the vocoder, and synth could be set to a certain key, like the kaossilator.

If setting the pad to a key isint possible, then a consolation prize may be adjusting the pad's sensitivity, making it less likely to make mistakes.

I realize its probably past the hardware capabilities, but if there is ANY way to reduce the sample loading time, that would totally dig my potato.

Also it was suggested that all the LEDs should glow all the time. I totally agree.

Oh yeah, and I see no sense is having the sample play back IMMEDIATELY after it has been recorded. This can be very troublesome - especially when an effect is on. This has already been commented on, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Thanks.

use the slice to remove beats and measures and it would be constantly changing even more

Thanks, I'm trying it out now and it works very well with beat-oriented stuff
but it's hard to avoid clicks and thumps with shortening looping evolving pads.
I'm having fun with the grooves though - it's inspiring. Cheers!
