Analog Rytm is a wonderful machine, of course... but three times the price of the Electribe so not exactly comparable in the context of this discussion :-)

That's true. I guess I just got carried away by the moment.

I bought the Rytm for its sample playback abilities only and I'm still looking forward to the Electribe Sampler. There are no hardware samplers today that offer this same approach, treating the sample like an oscillator, using filters, amps and whatnot to shape its sound. Considering that the Electribe out now sounds great if you just take a slice of audio and play with it, I'm hoping the sampler will offer the same, but with one's own samples.

if you search the hashtag #electribe on instagram there are people with the new tribes and most of them seem really stoked with the new gear.. granted its people excited to show off their new stuff but i stumbled on some people who have been using the gear and seeming to like it quite a bit..

Most of the stuff i have heard people complaining about i am not super concerned about.. I sold my super minty esx smart media for what i paid for it and dont regret it a bit.. I am stoked for portability, new pads, and the possibility of usb stuff going on.. i am trying to keep my mind clear of all the negativity and just considering it an entirely different piece of equipment..
