Well I can certainly understand the dislike of the smaller keys, I'm not a fan at all. However, I heard they're in the middle of the range of full sized and mini keys, so perhaps they're somewhat playable.

As for the patch cables, I wouldn't call them toys, theyre just a smaller grade (3.5mm).

I'd also recommend to check out the miniBrute, very versatile little synth with a lot of character, and while it doesn't have patch cables, you're able to route the LFO to different sources and it has an assignable mod wheel. Also, the steiner parker filter is pretty impressive, you should really check it out.

they keys are not korgs traditional mini keys on the ms-20. The sub phatty is another 4 hundred dollars, definitely a different price point, but sit in a similar area of appeal.

Check out these two vids, they're definitely not micro keys, but not full sized, either. But to me they look rather thin. I dunno, I'm not sure I would be able to play them at that size. Hopefully some music store will have one to play and I can try it out. To me this would be the deciding factor in buying this later down the line.

What are you trying to do Korg?

Do you want my wife to hate me?

Last year she paid for half my Kronos after I convinced her that by owning the kronos, I'd be content for years.

And now this.

Of course I want one. Somehow I can see her face if I suggest buying it, and it isn't a very happy face

ultimately as long as we are worried about the ms-20 minis key size. I would only be worried if it was the only set of keys in my set up... Its got midi and cv in, for me i'd say problem solved.

The minibrute doesnt have much of a keyboard range, which would bother me more then the keys size. The range on the 20 might not be that different but certainly can make the difference.

The range on the ms20 is 3 octaves, whereas the brute is only 2. But you are right, it makes a big difference. Its easy to switch range on the brute, tho.

And you're also right, I forgot you can connect another keyboard/controller to the ms20 and play it that way, although it would take up a bit more space.

Have you seen this interview with the developers? I like how fondly they talk about their creations, how gently they touch them. Just like their children.
