How about implement the best portamento on the market right now is the GENOS 2 and PSR-A5000, that would be a killer update, also add portamento to one of the left switches just like the synths.

Another 2 useful requests for the new update:

1. For Style Creation: In the style/record edit mode, please allow the ability to dial the measure box to any measure (like a regular sequencer) where you want to record, instead of start playing from measure 1 until reaching where you want to record. It is so time consuming to record a new bar at the end for all style elements (bass, drums, acc1, acc2,...)

2. For Live Mode: Make the touch screen boxes larger for 4 KeyboardSets. This will make it easy to select in the fly.

In addition to .mp3, please could you include file format codecs for .flac and .wav to export song recordings.
Also ability to import .flac and .wav file formats (i.e. song files) into the Pa5X would also be - great.

Appreciate that this "request" and previous may not be seen by Korg.

Here are some useful fixes to consider (in my opinion):
1. Pads - add the ability to sync it with the style (AFAIK - it existed in PA4x)
It has worked perfectly in Yamaha for ages as well
2. Add a sequencer (not only a quick edit but also an ability to manipulate recorded data)
3. Style Editor - add Step Editor
4. Style Editor - add Copy Bars inside the variation (we can cut/insert empty bars but not copy)
5. Style Editor - Add an ability to select a Drum Sample from another kit and save it inside the style (like in Yamaha - see their Drum Setup Function).
6. Style Editor - Use the Keyboard as an input device. Here are some examples:
6.1. When we enter chord progression in the Intro - we can type the chord we want on the keyboard, with no need to turn the wheel till we find the chord we need - it's very inconvenient right now. If you can't make it work, at least provide us convenient pop-up window with all the possible chords so that we can easily choose the right one.
6.2. When we Edit the track and want to choose the lowest / highest note (transpose / velocity change, etc.) - let us enter the range via the keyboard - it's a great input device why not use it?
6.3. When We edit an event and want to change one single note, we choose it, but then we need to use the wheel again - allow us to enter the note we want to put in there through the keyboard.
7. Style Editor -allow exporting only one CV to midi as opposed to the whole style
8. Style Editor - fix the "non-transpose" setting - it doesn't work: when use it in the intro, and play an arbitrary chord in the variation before starting the intro - it doesn't recognize it and sounds completely off-track sometimes.
9. Style Editor - event editor: allow more fine-grained filtering (by a certain type of controller, by a note range, etc)
10. Style Editor - event editor: implement multi-selection mode - an ability to change many events "at once", right from the event list.
11. Style Editor - event editor - when you show controllers - besides the controller number show us its name. For example, now we see "Controller 10" - it's much more user-friendly to see "Controller 10 - Pan"
12. Style Editor - while working in the event edit mode, we sometimes choose an event (like a note or controller) and want to insert a new one beneath it. When we insert - change the default to "copy" the event that was previously selected, because most of the time we'll be interested in the same type of event.
13. Style Editor, add a missing Velocity Curves Feature from PA4x - so that we could easily model a gradual velocity change
14. Style Editor - let us record automation (gradual Pan Change, Cutoff change, etc) - without resorting to external DAW. We could use A Dial Wheel for example to record it.
15. Pads - add an ability to trigger audio file playback (WAV/MP3) by pressing a pad button, pretty much like "audio link multipad" in Yamaha.
16. Generate a list of sounds available on Korg (including the sounds in the user banks) to be imported in the DAW (something like an '.ins' file) but generated by the keyboard itself and stored on a memory stick.
17. Add an ability to record in a WAV file, why only MP3 is supported?
18. Add more features to matrix pad:
- audio files playback
- finger drumming
19. Make Kaoss More Stable, sometimes it produces glitches and "orphan notes".
20. Provide Software made officially by Korg to play / edit styles on PC or Mac, Combine sets, Converting sets, etc. I know there is a PA Manager software, but the point is that software like this should be developed and maintained by Korg itself (as long as they don't publish the internal format of their data).

Export Book as Text File (from Songbook) to include fields like style and style path. This will help us all build a better database of factory style to song mapping…. On a tool that does not exist yet

Better multisample searching and filtering. When creating sounds I need to have the manual with me to find the nummer of the sample I want to use. It would be nice to have a browser to look up the sample instead only scrolling.

now that the pA5X has a 1Tb drive and a similar drive could be fitted to the PA4x or even 3x couldn't korg partition the drive so users don't lose all their data in an update a 2Tb drive would be even better or even an external sata or other interface socket for an extra drive. Or has something like this already been done ?

When editing a Style in Pa5X we usually have access to:
Edit Bass, Drum kit, Percussion kit, and Accompaniments 1-5.
When selecting the Drum Kit tap, we can edit each and every instrument in the Drum Kit.

It would be a nice addition if we are able to change/ replace the individual instrument/s in a specific Drum Kit.

In songbook, it would be nice that registered items such as Genre or Artist are remembered and come up when adding new songs.
For example. I registered a James Brown song en few months ago. Today I ad a new song to the Songbook and go to Artist. I type James, and then it would be nice that the system suggests James Brown, since I already add this artist in the past.

Portamento should work like on Krog Kronos and Range/Wrap in the style menu not in record mode.

I’m not sure if this was ever mentioned but…..

When style editing, it would be amazing to assign the movable sliders to do #CC. Meaning you can assign the slider to do pan, volume, expression, cut off for low and high and much more. That would be incredible. Put those sliders to good use when recording a new style.

Option to deactivate X-FADER and manual selection of Player 1 & Player 2

Did you know, that the KORG XDS function is more than just a Crossfade Dual Sequencer/Player?
In the last weeks and months I was and I still am exploring new ways on how to use the XDS. By that I mean for example:
- Controlling Style in Player 1 from Player 2 using a pre-programmed MIDI incl. automatic syncing, start/stop and chord changes
- Using Player 2 as a "melodic band" with up to 16 channels/additional sounds (!) incl. automatic syncing it with Player 1 (e.g. for HUUUGE ensemble string melodies/intros incl. other instruments)
- Using Player 2 as a "keyboardset", i.e. controlling up to 19 (3 + 16) channels/sounds at once (!) with Upper 1/2/3 (so you can also group these 16 additional sounds)
- And a looot more

What I don't like is the behaviour of the X-FADER. I would like to manually select which player I want to be active on the screen (for mixing, editing effects etc.) and not let the X-FADER control that. It is really annoying how it is implemented now (1.3.1), since even in the middle region, the volume of the other Player decreases slightly.

I would like both players be the same volume/deactivate the X-FADER, control their volume via Player 1 Volume and Player 2 Volume sliders and activate them on the screen via dedicated touchscreen and/or assignable hardware buttons (e.g. as it is implemented using the STYLE ELEMENT MARKER menu or something similar as TRACK SELECT, which is assignable).
The implementation should be really easy and have almost no bug-risks, since these functions and menues are already there, but not accessible in the way I described it.

I know that the use-cases are niches. But once you understand how to use them, they become really powerful tools. Especially using the 2nd player to accompany your live-playing with other instruments in a slightly other way or harmonies (in sync with the other player if necessary) or using it as a "keyboardset" are big deals, at least for the music style I am playing.
