Is it just me, or do the guitar programs sound horrible?

The Second one is pretty darn good, the guitars in Omnisphere I think are outstanding.

The third one is also pretty good. I like that VSynth patch, I might have to take a look at that one.

Nice job all around really, I think the third one could definitely trick me into thinking it was a guitar player using a volume pedal or slow swell sort of effect.

Nice tunes as well :)
ha thanks. The first track, you have to get mid-way through the first verse to hear the strummed chords, it's the Gmaj7 -> Aadd9, mostly in the left channel (easy to hear w/ headphones). I think my "strums" are a little tight near the beginning. But I think what you said is actually what I was going for. I just wanted textures - I figure that if you can make sounds with a guitar that can make people think "is that a synth?," you should be able to make sounds with a synth that makes people think "is that a guitar?"

The V-synth patch an overdriven mono one called "freak lead." I just changed it to polyphonic and started messing with the envelope sliders and recorded as audio.

While I would not use the word "crap" to describe the guitar sounds on the Kronos, I tend to use guitar sounds, especially for solo, hand played, from the Motif XF. Many times Karma utilizes the Kronos guitar sounds very well.

Of course, I am not a guitar player, and I don't really care if the Kronos sounds like a realistic guitar, as long as I enjoy the thing. While I use guitar sounds (samples) I am not really concerned with the authenticity of the sound, as my playing does not really emulate the guitar performance anyway. (and if you don't believe me, just ask any guitar player)
