hi Kaden ,
seems we hit something that goes deep into philosophy
and is definitely absolutely subjective
wikipedia needs many pages (no , I didnt read that ) to explain
a short definition (shure not complete):
chaos:
"...randomness ... or ...the lack of predictability of events."(WIKI)
..."and lack of rules"(Waterdrum)
is
"a pretty useful tool , musically " (Kaden)
all in all , I agree with your opinion ,
because I am a chaotic since the 70s.(not in my job ,not with my bike)
(and it shure needs some chaotic spirit to drill holes into a wavedrum )
as with the "ideal PCM sample set"
there is no good or better , its just a matter of personal taste
(as well as "musical usefulness" ,)
and can not easily be discussed , if at all...
I think however , that these are very interesting topics
and they would definitively deserve an own thread.
the random playing of the wavedrum is not really compatible
with my own built in randomizer ,
not enough chaos inside WD melodies, that is it ...
but both can be deactivated ...
btw : I did some extra work and googled your signature (earlier already)
hopefully "Eccentric Cubicle" arrives tomorrow (I admit , a used one) .
Cool DIY stuff
I am very interested in your brute force midification , esp.the head trigger ,
could you please get a little bit into details ?
(external triggering includes that already...)
