On-the-one-hand, I love it. My next purchase will be a MOTIF.

OTOH, I hate it. This means a lot more players will be using KARMA.
I wish I was the only one in the world using it.

I had planned to buy a Fantom XR module. Not anymore.

This might be the Roland killer.

Theres nothing stopping him developing Karma for the Fantom range too, surely?

I thought his view was to eventually create a KARMA software prog that would work with any system?

I agree, this is a great combination. I'd be interested in Knowing if the new KARMA Motif software will also work with the Yamaha S90 XS? An internal sequencer and sampler is not a mandatory requirement for me.

Dunno about the S-90.
KARMA Motif Software for PC and Mac ($199) is scheduled to be available
directly from Karma-Lab in April 2011.
For more information, visit Yamaha at Winter NAMM 2011, Anaheim Marriott,
Marquis Ballroom; write Yamaha Corporation of America, P.O. Box 6600, Buena Park,
CA 90622; telephone (714) 522-9011; e-mail infostation@yamaha.com; visit
www.yamaha.com/press.

I hope so. But it isn't happening now.

I like Roland gear better than Yamaha. It's easier to use.
But right now - Korg & Yamaha will have it. Roland won't.

I am just wondering how the direct controll over Karma on Motif could ever come close to the controll on M3 or Oasys...

Hard to say.

Obviously you'll need an external computer, and the Motif only allows 4 Voices in a Performance while the M3 allows up to 16 (in a combi). Not sure what Stephen has created until I see it in action though.

Its fun to see that this topic is much hotter overhere then on Motifator, them yammies must not realise the power that will be shared with them.

According to the Yamaha press release, Karma will work in Song/Pattern modes which have 16 parts.

Probably not but this just adds one more reason for upgrading from my ES to an XF which I plan to do once all the dust settles later this year.

I guess I must be one of those Yammie guy's that looked down their nose at Karma because I have an XS and I'm just not excited about the news...It's not that I couldn't have it by now either because I had a Triton when the software first came out and I have the M50 now....I guess it just doesn't look useful to me though I do love watching videos of Stephen demo it....I won't be in line to get it....

Maybe its just me, but i start to feel sorry for Steven Kay, the one low quallity video currently available at Youtube is not what i would call the best possible start of this combination...

Where is the hype over at the Motif forums?

Yamaha should have atleast a few premade video's avialable from before NAMM or a full fledged professionally recorded Youtube of Kay's orriginal presentation at NAMM.

We'll see when either KARMA studios or Yamaha will post a high quallity video...
