Yes, I think we are generally in agreement... indeed, I'm looking at things from more of a "spontaneous performer" viewpoint. And in that respect, the problem with even a Category button is that it still takes multiple steps to switch from a piano sound to a strings sound to an organ sound, until/unless you work to specifically set up the quick changes in advance.X-Trade wrote:I do generally agree though. I should also point out that the TR has a [CATEGORY] button, which I immediately found when trying the keyboard. Same goes for the X50 and microX.
I realize that most of the Korgs we're talking about are primarily workstations rather than performance keyboards. The problem has been, for performers, that there haven't always been performance keyboards in the line to choose from. So it's good to see the PS60. Yamaha has had the S series of performance oriented boards to complement their Motifs, Roland has had the Juno series to complement the Fantom, and Korg kind of forced to you buy something with a workstation orientation.
