that should NOT be happening lol.
it's only 500 lines of code and most of the time it's just sitting there waiting for you to send it OSC/MIDI data.
is it possible MAX/MSP is using all that processing power? it's a lot more likely, i think...
edit - you're using the newest version, the .exe file, not the chuck/miniaudicle version right? because the chuck version was a disaster, that language is really interesting but it still needs some serious work!

i still get occassional e-mails thanking me for this work, the newer versions are pretty clean but have a few flaws that will never be fixed. i've moved on from programming for the kp3.
a few folks have problems but they generally have not taken the time to understand whaat's going on. i would suggest using the launchpad first because that's a way easier method of emulating a monome. a kp3 is just a pretty poor substitute.

My hope is to use both. The KP3 certainly isn't as useful as a monome, but being able to run something like mlr or plinko on it, while using the launchpad for other apps seems pretty ideal (not to mention that the KP3 is pretty much worthless as a midi controller in Live anyhow) and this would make it far more useful for my set-up, giving me a poor man's 128. I've been looking for ways to hack the KP3 for a while, and this is exactly the kind of thing I've been hoping for.
Going to give it a shot tomorrow and see how it goes...hoping I can figure it out with some pain and sweat.
