So, credit were it’s due. Thank you everyone at KORG for your hard work in producing such amazing musical instruments. Your work does indeed go towards making this world a happier place.

I also want to congratulate Korg on this fabulous new keyboard.
The arranger market needs this periodic renovation.
Well done Korg :D

PS: About those rants!
Altough It is not expected that newly bought Pa5X owners would rank among the strongest critics, and in a rapid survey in our forum, I found 15% of Pa5X owners with some major complaints, whereas among non-Pa5X owners, 32% are among the most vocal critics.
Not disregarding the validity of some of the criticism, the tone and utmost importance given to some of this, might be mistaken for a "The Fox and the Grapes, Aesop's/La Fontaine's fable" where a command "-No way you're spending that fortune!" transforms an unattainable Pa5X into an intrinsic undesirable/bad product ... ;-)

Congratulation for what?! For an unfinished product costing £3700 and up?! It's sad that even the ones who say congratulation admit that have a "few bugs" and will be good soon with updates! Commiserations it's more appropriate until its at least playable as an arranger out of home.

Taking in consideration reported errors/bugs, functions, missing familiar features from previous pa line, set file system change and easy of controls this arranger as of current setup is by far the worst in the Pa line!

I have yet to see any of the new owners use it on stage as a 1 man band arranger same as the Pa4X. All the new "lucky" owners that I know have Pa5X sit on their home playing some Austrian piano, waiting in vain for an update to fix bugs and trying to convert their set to make it playable at least same as Pa4X.

I will say though congratulation for making almost imposible to adapt as of current setup from Pa4X to Pa5X!

I agree with you 100%. The pa5x has to be the biggest flop of any Pa series so far. It’s a complete mess as of right now. I really love this company and love everything they do but this keyboard is thee biggest flop they ever released. I personally feel like it was rushed but then again it was 7 years since their last totl arranger. The menu and OS is way too much Yamaha influenced. Not very smart since we all learned the PA series Operating system over 20 years.

My Pa5x is currently unplugged and collecting dust at the moment. It’s been turned on twice. Just waiting for that OS to be released and hopefully they can bring Korg OS back to the Korg pa5x and all it’s functions that we had on previous models.

Actually just the main screen and the FILE (former MEDIA) menus changed mostly and that happened because it had to to reflect the dual player and enhance the overall look of the UI which had remained the same for over 20 years...
Everything else is 99% exactly at the place they were always with minor changes here and there..
Personally after using my pa5x for more than 10 days now, i booted my pa300 and felt bad from the old menu which was stretched, low res and without any graphics..
It felt way too old and unusable in 2022.
I agree that they shouldn't have released an unfinished keyboard (it really feels like alpha version OS , not even beta) and they should quickly release a finished OS even if it needs some fixes here and there which is totally acceptable for a complete rewrite when there has been no beta testing done.
Yes, unfortunately we are the beta testers more than any other time but at least korg fixes all critical issues and almost every minor one as we have seen from the previous models so i m 100% confident the pa5x will give way more than what it should have been on launch!
Even though you can't easily play live currently with it, the sound you can achieve , even in its current state , is more than 50% better than any previous arranger.
It will surely not be a flop by any means as korg will not let it as it currently is.

Yes the menus have changed for the better. Much more up to date with look and all but……I do not like the alphabetical order of sounds, styles, pads. On my 4x, I have them separated into users but also I have the ones I use most on the same page and close to each other.

So for example, to the people that don’t have the 5x yet, your “apple” (style, sound, pad) will not be on the same page with your “zebra” (style, sound, pad) because they made everything in alphabetical order. You’re gonna have to go page after page until you find what your looking for.

They should at least have an option on the global menu for you to change that. Really annoying honestly.

Given that the OS is not finished, a lot will be added/changed till we have a really "stable"/"final" working OS.
For now if you want the styles to appear in order you can rename them and add something like "A_" "B_" in front of the name so it ll sort them according to how you want them sorted!

I wouldn't call it a solution but a temporary "fix"!
Glad it helped though!
A good thing with the new structure is that you can have as many folders as you wish with any name you wish so you can split them in multiple folders with 10 styles each folder so all your quick access styles to be in the same page always.
You can also add the same style to multiple folders if you want to make bigger lists for different live situations.
Or you can make any combination you wish along with the temporary "fix" i suggested and organize everything way better compared to the old (.set) way!

Asena wrote:Guys first of all I’m sorry if I mess it up for some of you.
That was not my intention.
Secondly I am a keyboardist who plays every week at least one party.
In all this frustration I was just trying to explain that I am a former Korg guy who really loves and enjoys their products, but this time manny things was going on wrong direction.
I think they Made the best workstation arranger ever! YES.
I loved My PA 1Xpro, 2x,3x,4x my triton studio, my oasys, my Kronos and all they have Came out with so far that I Had.
And YES the PA5X is the most advanced KB until now.
For that reason I wanna say THANK YOU FOR A PRODUCT LIKE THIS!
No doubt about that,
I just hope that they will fix the things that we really need, as they promised, that’s all.
Take care all,
Stay safe and make music like you always say,
I try, if it’s working and not freezes🫣
Best regards from me To all of you and KORG TRAM.

I agree, the Pa5X is the most modern arranger, I love the Pa4X, I believe that the Pa5X will move even further. The system can be supplemented in the same way as previous models.

And I believe that KORG could listen more to the wishes of the musicians who buy and present the brand. CORG. You know, this is the motivation to go to the better and forward.
thank you for everything KORG and I believe in further development

I must say, apart from many serious "bugs" in OS1.0 which I believe they will be fixed soon, KORG has made an incredible software & hardware designing which covers almost everything I ever asked and wanted from a PaX! Pa5X carries the experience of all PaX series, 20 years now, and I am sure it will be even better the next years! Congratulations KORG!!!
But I must also say the negatives. The worst thing is that they let all these bad leaks without doing anything and spoiled the image of the company. Now they released an unfinished product and spoils the image even more! Why?

Dimitris

Well said !
I think it’s a wonderful keyboard and with great ideas on board which is not working at the moment! At least on this 1.0
I also believe they will fix all the problems, I hope.
For me I decided 90 days!
I will wait 90 days which gives me my rights to send it back and get my money.
So if I’m unhappy with the keyboard or if they don’t fix it in this time,. Then I will return it back.
And together with me there is six more persons who decided to the same solution..
And no I did not have any clue that the keyboard is not as they promise in the videos or how they introduce it to users.
I one
From Korg told me that the Kb is
So buggy, unstable and does not have the most important things like using my set file.
The ram, the midi to style, record style, and manny more is missing.at least 10/15 huge bugs. And we can’t use it on stage as it is now.
Can’t even convert our set file.
So far, as many people have mentioned, it’s far from a 5X, that we can use in live situations.
That’s really sad.
