Seems Korg have removed the original numbered plates photo from their Instagram account.

If it is, it had better be checked for quality control... the originals were a nightmare if they went wrong - especially the switches!

U know it is True When They Blow out Kronos

Post by keyofZ »

Guitar Center 2 months ago Blew out NEW Kronos 88 Key for $1700.
Korg had to be behind this. Guitar Center had over 300 in stock at the time.
At the same time on Ebay. You could Buy 1 for 1395.00 New.(said open box. But.... New in Box)
Currently If you know how to look on Ebay. You can get a brand new PA600 for $700-$750.00. A PA900 for under $1,000.00.( I can not instruct you How to look on this Forum)
So there is Definitely a new one coming.
My Guess. Kronos without Fans. and Faster loading, Color touch Screen? Some New Features?
A new PA Line. with Guitar input(Like the MicroArranger) Plus other Past due Features.

Zzounds is offering 12 months same as cash on all Korg products until July 31st. New keyboards coming soon methinks too. ;-)

That is always going on. But you pay near full price (sweetwater is 36 mths.)
you need to look for other signs of a technology change.
the best prices on any gadget is when a technology change is coming.
3 years is normal IE: micro-Chips that were too expensive 3 years ago. Are now. Dirt Cheap. That is when Korg, Roland and others upgrade their models.
The chips used in keyboards are always 2 or thee generations behind Current Generation.

Since the new Kronos has only been out since last December or so, with actual real life delivery dates much later (and STILL waiting lists in many places I might add) it would be a pretty epic mistake by Korg to already succeed it with a newer model.

Maybe they were the old ones

Maybe they were the old ones they blew out?
I only watch what I am interested in. I just happened on to the Blowouts on Kronos. Maybe the new one fixes the Fan problem(I would never have something that distracted me that much)

The Kronos 2 has a fan management option. I notice it during startup but then it either shuts off or slows down where it's not noticeable to me.

The original Kronos also has the same fan management options since 3.0 :)

Actually that is not always going on at Zzounds. Their normal finance deal with Korg products is only 4 months 0%. This 12 month 0% deal is only good thru end of July. So for Zzounds I take this as a sign they want to clear out the inventory of Korg keyboards,

Or, they just hope to sell keyboards and edge out the competition.

Mystery Solved?

Post by TheGhostStation »

So, I saw today that Korg announced a new Special Limited Edition Volca Sample. Its an artist series collaboration with OKGO. The units are limited to 3000 which is the number of units the Instagram pic had. I guess they took it down because it has nothing to do with #EDM.
