Trinity had a different problem - slow DSP CPUs at the time. That's why touchscreen was sluggish.

Some folks on the MOTIF side don't like touchscreens. I like the one on the Kronos. Lots of speculation when Yamaha will come out with a new synth and what will be different.
The touch UI of the Kronos, however is far from perfect, many of the items are just a tad to small, there are many solutions for that.. but the touch interface of the Kronos is clearly showing its age.. just have a look at how most ipad apps work and you know where they should be heading..
I am not sure your iPad comparison is valid.

The Kronos was already in the can , mapped out , spec'ed out for production when the iPad came out;

And I don't feel that its absolutely vital that Korg should have to tear out their touchscreen for the Kronos X or Kronos 2, and force in the iPad technology.

Anyway, I do think the next Korg workstation(2016/17) will have a new interface.

I think we are saying the same thing, the Kronos toichinterface is old....

A future new workstation should have a new touchinterface...

I wish it had mouse support. A keyboard can be used for text input so why not add mouse.

Also, did the editor work well ok on a windows touchscreen PC?
