Finally got it sussed out. Able to move banks around and install ESX demos. As a long time Motif user I hope that Korg, as well as Yamaha, will one day simplify the file management process. Like everything once you wrap your head around it and practice it doesn't seem hard. For the uninitiated though it can be time consuming and frustrating.

If you think of a PCG file as a series of nested folders or directories, and pressing open takes you down into the next level, it's really not very hard to understand. ;)

Swapping Kronos Program Banks

Post by TJ80 »

Hello all.

I am trying to get to grips with this having recently purchased some of the excellent KAPro sounds.

I followed Kid Nepro's instructions and all seemed to go ok must then I realised the the samples were wrong, or hadn't transferred correctly.

For example, I moved the single coil sounds into bank FF and all the samples are brass ones!

Does any one have any idea as to what I have done wrong. I should add that I changed the empty user program banks to HD1 were necessary

Many thanks.

Not sure if you are having problems with combis or programs, but here's a little thread I wrote about a mistake I did some time ago and a solution that could help others : http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=107450

Hi there and thanks for the reply.

It's a problem with the programs, with the wrong samples being in them.

It may be an error I made when I copied sounds downloaded from KAPro (which were successfully installed in user G, then transferred to a USB stick and loaded into a new bank.

As I am not sure why it's happened I thought it better to seek advice on here rather than make things worse :D.

Dear all,

Just to let you know that I have resolved this issue.

I contacted KAPro directly and they responded early the following morning.

It transpired that although the programs had been moved I also needed to move the wave sequences which doesn't happen automatically. They then provided me with a set of all the correct files in a folder with them already assigned for the appropriate banks, as they asked me in which ones I wanted to put them and all I had to do was load them.

I have to say that I was very impressed with the speed of their response, swift analysis of the issue and a solution that was simple to implement.

They asked to mention that if anybody on here has an issues regarding their products, not to hesitate in contacting them.
