Switching between patches during performance?

It could be due to switch contact bounce, or dirt on the switch contacts on the Boss FS-5U. The Kronos may just be quicker to repond to contact closure than other keyboards. Switch cleaner on the contacts may help.

I had a BOSS FS but it goes via a Roland FC300 and I have never seen double triggering. I have also used a Yammie FC4 direct into the Kronos to step through patches and not experienced double triggering.

I'd like to think the Kronos (or any synth) has a hystersis threshold on a foot switch input, as it is a physical fact of life that mechanical switches will exhibit contact bounce

Check the footswitch polarity setting in Global Mode.
