SanderX - I started out as a keyboard player, so it was one of those odd quirks that made me say that. The devil made me do it . . . Ahem
I hope you realize I was just joking back!

That's maybe like what the dealer provided who sold me my Kronos -"it's a lot cheaper than a Korg pedal". It turned out it was a "switch pedal" not an actual sustain pedal. So then I ordered a real Korg sustain pedal from Alan at Sweetwater. Works perfectly, the way a true, variable sustain pedal performs on a acoustic piano.
Happy ending: I now use that original pedal as a pedal switch to turn drum tracks on/off. Both are indispensable for how I use my Kronos.
Congrats on getting the 88. Good luck with your Kronos journey!

Congratulations!
I bought mine from them in August but, unfortunately, not at that price. On the other hand, I've already had three months of trouble-free inspiration from it.

Just wondering. Would a laptop maybe suit your needs better or we're you also planning on getting back into playing keyboards again? Just wondering from a mobility standpoint? I do understand about having too much gear to schlep around. a Kronos 73, 2 guitars plus all the amplification that goes along is a pain in the back.
The short answer is yes, I'm going to pick the piano again. But also, I was searching for an instrument to do many things, write/record, and in a live setting, to enable me to have entire instruments parts or sections of songs, without having to add lots of musicians to the band. Adding other musicians who are expert in their instruments would be the ultimate goal, but initially getting the right players could be hard b/c in this immediate area, this is a small music scene.
I said, "was searching" because I just pulled the trigger on a Kronos x88!
Awesome! Congratulation! You are now officially one of us. The Cult of Crazy Kronoa! Hmmmm. Whatever you do, don't turn that into an acronym!

Thanks Jeremy! TCCK - that don't make no stinkin' acronym. KRONOA? That's sounds like a sub-species of of a mutant underwater crustacean.

Thanks Jazfan. The pedal is a Moog EP-2 Expression Pedal. Although I'm completely flying on the wind with the following statement - I think the expression pedals and sustain pedals are two different things, as it seems to me a sustain pedal would be the equivalent of the sustain pedal on a piano, which is typically the pedal on the right on pianos. I conceive of the expression pedal as something you would use with synth or string sounds, etc. Not so? After I get to using the keyboard a while, I may investigate your way of using a pedal to turn tracks on or off.

I've never used my Moog pedal on my K but they're pretty decently built. I say good deal!

Yepper! I knew you were joking. That was supposed to read: Cult Of Crazy Kronos'!
I'm using M Audio pedals. I also have an old style sustain pedal plugged into " switch" at the back. I have it set so that it advances the set list while I am playing. Very handy if you are using bath hands on the keys and need to do a program change.

For home studio and classical music, select Kronos 88.
For concerts and rehearsals-Kronos 73.

I do that at least twice a week and am very happy with my choice.
