Thanks for the reply! I took it apart yesterday and spent a while disconnecting and reconnecting all the ribbon controllers and so far it's working

The one between the keyboard and the main board should be enough.

By the way, a 'ribbon controller' is a touch-sensitive strip found on some keyboards as a modulation source. Very different from a 'ribbon cable'
