I just bought this unit today and started messing with right away . I have tons of guitars but I was using my Jackson sl2h playing with the thing . I had no hiss at first and I was using the highest gain setting . I did get hiss when I turned the volume knob on my guitar to 0 , but once I turned the guitar knob ( volume to 10 ) the noise gate killed 99% of the hissing. I can tell you that you don't want to add effects to this unit . It is designed to be a stand alone and it seems the noise gate only works with the internal programs and not outside sources . This is just what I noticed in playing with it for a few hours. I have not tried this unit on my jsx head or my power amp yet I will give a holler if anything changes when I get the chance to do that . Right now I have it hooked up to my computers aux jack in to hear it and jam .
Maybe it's a commom problem with PX4D.
I'm having the same issue.
Using mine mainly with headphones as a practice tool.
It's like "a cymbal in the room": each note I played sings a hiss with, when I mute the string the hiss is gone.
I found the hiss more accentuated in DYNA HUM>SGL.
NR (noise reduction) is useless, furthermore it kills my tone.
I know it an old topic, maybe guys have a solution for this issue.
