Worth noting that the Korg SV-1 case is overpriced for what it is... I got mine and was not impressed. It's ok but it's just a soft case that should sell for $99 tops.

So there are no internal plastic supports around the edges? How much padding protects the sv-1? I was considering getting a hard case but I was waiting to see what this case was all about.

There are two short rigid (fiberboard?) panels stuck in between the thin outer material and the removable inner bottom pad on either end but no support in the middle. It has basic padding all around the keyboard but no internal supports. Reminds me of a Pro-Tec case. It also has a zippered unpadded pouch in the back for holding the SV-1 stand but that looks like it'll rip easily if you use it for that. I've bought a lot of cases in my day and for $179 this isn't worth it.

If the case is that poor of quality, I would recommend the Nord case for the Stage 76. I am using that, and it fits the SV-1 73 perfectly. Well build, protects the keyboard very well, and it is red. The only down side is the Nord Logo. (Not a problem for me, since my other keyboard is a Nord.)

It is worth the money.

Still no Stand for SV-1 ?

Post by kudzu »

Man, I've been waiting since Feb '10 for the ST-SV1 stand ... how difficult can it be to make it?

I am showing the stand arriving to our doors early-to-mid August - finally!

It'll take a few days minimum to stat to get out to dealers, but it will be there soon. Really!

Sustain pedal

Post by jpvx-ray »

I am having a lot of difficultly keeping my sustain pedal from walking all over the place. I noticed that it has a recess for it to fit over a cross tie of a stand, but it doesn't look like the sv-1 stand has any thing like that. I am currently using an x stand. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas about how to make the pedal stay put. Thanks!

I actually put mine on the side bar on the right hand side. I know its unconventional and not like a piano, but it works consistently so thats what I will use until I get something better than my x stand.

Have you thought about adding some foam to your soft case? Adding a layer to the inside will protect whats inside and should help take care of some issues you mentioned.

Stand and Case Arrived

Post by Logicality »

First post in this forum... received my 73-key SV-1 about week ago and loving it!

So first... hello! \:D/

I've received the stand and case.

I have to say the stand is extremely well designed, portable and solid.

As for the case, it's also well designed, and the way I can fit the keyboard, stand and all my pedals in it is awesome. When you have the stand stwoed away in its special pouch it also adds a bit more rigidity and protection to the case which is an added bonus in my experience.

My only complaint is the same as many above: I wish it had a bit more protection, such as a harder shell.

Overall, however, the practicality and fit of the case makes up for this and I'm glad I went for it over a hard case!

Hi all,

Does anyone know the exterior dimensions of the bag/case CB-SV1-73? Great thing about the 73 note is that it totally fits in my Corolla Sedan boot on a diagonal, with space to move - and I can fit a guitar case and a keyboard stand in there too.

I don't want to get a case that's going to prevent me from doing that. Considering the Korg case can fit the keyboard stand as well, I'm assuming it's going to be kinda fat - so if anyone could tell me the exterior dimensions of the CB-SV1-73 that would be much appreciated.

That cut-out is because they use the same pedal for the SP-250, whose stand has a cross-bar (cool idea, though it makes the stand non-collapsible) that holds the pedal firmly in place.

My Kawai ES-4 has even bigger problems with wandering-pedal syndrome, so I've taken to bringing a stick along on gigs that I use as a pedal block, running between two of my stand's legs. I've sometimes used a music stand for the same purpose.
