It's all kind of a mute point, if you can't find one.
A new one, I mean.
If you can find a new one, get it.
Spring for a power conditioner, if you're that worried about burnout.
You can always settle for a used one from Ebay or elsewhere, but
it's always a crap shoot, if you can't get the history of the instrument.
Was it a demo?
Was it used much?
Was it ever repaired?
Those are the kind of questions you need to ask, if you're considering a used one.
So, your question shouldn't be about burnout, but rather more along the lines of
the questions above.
If you can get a nice use model, burnout shouldn't be a factor.
I tried to buy an ExTri61 from Guitar Center last summer (1.5 yr ago) for a nice price, but it was an open box. I was skeptical about it, but it played nice at home.
However, I was moving around to set it up and I could hear something broken rattling around inside which ended up being a broken piece of a key, some internal section had been snapped off. It was not immediately noticeable or I would have passed on it while at the store.
Needless to say I returned it the next day and the manager ended up finding me a brand new sealed one the for same price as the open box.
